A canal house in Amsterdam-Keizersgracht 453 from 1669. It has a facade of thin long Vingboon style and neck type gable surrounded by ornaments. In 1871, Van Gogh's uncle Cornelis Marinus van Gogh moved his bookstore and art gallery to here. Van Gogh visited here in 1877-78. At that time his uncle Johannes Stricker taught the young Vincent in theology. It is said that his cousin Kee who reject him has lived at here also. He could not pass the university entrance exams. When uncle van Gogh asked him to paint seriously, he was around 30 years old (1882).
