Odessa'da Palais-Royal'de Eros (Cupid) ve Psyche. Milet kralının en küçük kızı Psyche çok güzeldir. Kıskanan Afrodit Eros'u gönderir ama Eros ona aşık olur. Psyche ondan şüphelenince Eros terk eder, hikaye sürer. 'Ruhun sevgi ile kurtulması' konulu hikaye Apuleius'a ait (MS 2.yy), şimdiye tamamı ile ulaşmış tek Latince eserden. Bu ise o dönemden kalan mermer yontunun bir kopyası (Roma Capitoline müzesi). Grekçe'de psyche, ruh ve kelebek anlamlarına geliyordu.
Eros (Cupid) and Psyche at the Palais-Royal in Odessa. Psyche, the youngest daughter of king of Miletus, is very beautiful. Jealous Aphrodite sends Eros, but Eros falls in love with her. When Psyche suspects him, Eros leaves, and the story goes on. It is about the soul redeeming itself through love. It belonged to Apuleius (2nd century AD). This is a copy of a marble sculpture (Roman Capitoline museum). In ancient Greek, psyche meant, soul and butterfly.
