Durres, amfi-tiyatro içindeki şapelin mozaikleri. 4.yy'da yapılan şapele 6.yy'da mozaik eklemeleri yapılır. Soldaki freskte ilk şehit Aziz Stephen. Sağda melekler arasında imparatorluk tarzı mücevherli ‘loros’ giymiş kadının kim olduğu tartışmalı (Meryem ?). Sağ elinde asa sol elinde taçlı küre var. Alttaki minyatür kişiler ise bağışçılar. Paleohristiyan (erken Hristiyanlık) freskleri (MS 550 öncesi) hala pagan figürlerinin etkisi altındadır.
Albania-Durres, the mosaics of the chapel inside the amphitheater. It built at 4th century, but some mosaics were added at 6th century. The fresco on the left is St. Stephen, the first martyr. On the right, the name of the woman among the angels is controversial (St. Mary ?), she dressed an imperial ‘loros’ with jewellery. There is a crowned globe in her left hand, and a staff in her right hand. The miniature people were the donors. Paleochristian (early Christian) frescoes (before 550 AD) were still under the influence of pagan figures.
